After things dried out a bit then the cement was laid for the planting areas. These pics were taken on Sept. 10th.
Well after having about 9 tons of dirt dropped off in the yard ,we then shoveled it into the planting areas and planted the trees, shrubs and flowers. There are four different areas and I planned on using a drip irrigation system. The materials for the new vinyl fence were delivered. Now its Sept. 18th.
Now it's Sept. 22nd and the fence has been started. Weed fabric has started to be put out, and about 10 tons of gravel was delivered. Oh boy - here we go again with shoveling. Well one added benefit is that my weight loss plateau was broke with all that shoveling and exercising.
Things are moving faster now, Jeff Miller and his family have brought the grass. These pictures were taken Sept. 26th. We have still been moving gravel, the fence company helped out and moved some of it with a bobcat, thank you! Kevin and I also took several rides and collected some boulders to place in our yard. Unfortunately, Kevin hurt his back and can hardly walk so I am trying to finish moving gravel by myself.

Finally!!! Oct. 4th and we are about done. I hired a couple teenage boys to finish moving the gravel ( the best money I ever spent). When we were collecting boulders we were also collecting flat rocks for our natural walkway and guess what---had to shovel sand around the rocks. We placed a few solar lights, including some lights on top of the fence post. Kevin says it looks like an airplane runway but you can surely find our yard at night. We have a few more ideas we want to add next summer and we can't wait to enjoy all our hard work. We love it, no watering, no mowing and it looks AWESOME!!!!!!!
